Welcome
It's summertime in New Jersey, which means, corn, tomatoes, and the 6th Annual Sourland Music Festival! Saturday July 25th, from 4-11pm. This will be our 4th year at the Polo Field at Hillsborough Country Club, courtesy of the Thompson Land Company, and the club manager, Drew. Enjoy the lovely views of the Sourlands, where there's always a nice breeze running along the ridge.
New this year is a Silent Auction that will run from 4-8pm during the show. From a donated basket of goodies and gift card from Whole Foods Market Princeton, to a weeks vacation in LBI, or perhaps a cave home in Le Loire Valley France, all the auction items are a great chance to support the Sourland Planning Council. If you or your business has interest in sponsorship of the festival, through advertisement or the auction, get in touch with Deb Fabricatore, (908) 369-5977.
This years headliner is Somerville's own Big Nancy and the Supreme Court. This hard hitting blues, funk, and R&B band is some of the best in the country- you will not want to miss this act! Other local performers are Ten Foot Tall, Wenonah Brooks(can't get more local that that!), Dan Lavoie, and others.
As you stretch out your blanket and chairs, and talk with neighbors, make your way over to the food tent; the grill is goin', with local corn in the steam pot, and blue berries and cream to finish it off. Thirsty? Have a cold one or a glass of wine- mountain water is over there in big coolers, no charge, help yourself.
You know, it's not crowded like at the shore, and you can just sit and enjoy some of Central New Jersey's finest musicians, while watching that big summer sun drop over the hills a bit west. Drive home is nothing like leaving some big city theatre or the movies at the mall- you ride along dark roads with the windows down and the sounds of the music still in your head.
So come support the Sourland Planning Council. Order discounted tickets online and enjoy your Summer, New Jersey!
Don't forget to bring a blanket or lawn chair
No alcoholic beverages are permitted to be brought into the festival grounds
